DARAGH KHWAJA SAHEB


The final ersting place of the Saint, Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chisti, the bestower of Boons. It os popularly known as Ghareeb Nawaz. Built in the 13th century. It is approached through a gigantic gate with a silver door. The 'Buland Darwaza' (or the great Door) leads to the second courtyard. The grave of the saint has a domed chamber, encircled by a Silver railing and a Marble screen. 'Quawwals' (Singers of Quawwalis) from all over the world, come to sing praises of the Saint, charging the atmosphere with a Soul filled current. Here 'Fakirs' plead for alms, while Khadims, (or Servants of the Saint) look out for Pilgrims.

SONIJI KI NASIYAN

Soniji Ki Nasiyan


Ajmer Jain Temple, also known as Soniji Ki Nasiyan, is an architecturally rich Jain temple. It was built in the late nineteenth century. The main chamber, known as the Swarna Nagari "City of Gold", has several gold-plated wooden figures, depicting several figures in the Jain religion.

Lake Foy Sagar 

 

A beautiful artificial lake that appears flat, Lake Foy Sagar was built by an English engineer, Mr. Foy in 1892 AD. Interestingly, this work was taken up to provide famine relief through wage employment to locals. Lake Foy Sagar offers a beautiful view of the Aravalli range.

ADHAI - DIN KA- JHONPDA


This is a masterpiece of Indo - Islamic architecture, is located near the Dargah Sharif and consists of a quadrangle cloistered on all four sides. It was destroyed by Mohammad Ghauri and converted into a mosque. The name, Adhai-din-ka-Jhonpra was given to it in the latter half of the 18th centurywhen fakirs began to assemble here in the times of the Maratthaas to celebrate the URS anniversaryof the death of the Pir Panjaba Shah, which lasted for two-and-a-half days, and fakirs residences are Jhonpras(huts), It is beacause of the that it gets its name. Pillars from at least thirty temples went into the making of this structire, but the screen and arches were added in 1266 A.D.

ANASAGAR LAKE

 

Anasagar Lake is a scenic artificial lake, commissioned and built by Arnoraj Chauhan, son of Ajaypal Chauhan, between 1135 and 1150 AD. Arnoraj was also known as Anaji, which gives the lake its name. Many years later, Mughal Emperor Jahangir added his touch to the lake by laying out the Daulat Bagh Gardens near the lake. Emperor Shah Jahan too, contributed to the expansion by building five pavilions, known as the Baradari, between the garden and the lake.
