Mount Abu is also known as Abu par vat, is the oasis in the desert land of Rajasthan. Mount Abu is a well known hill station situated in Aravali range in the state of Rajasthan in the west part of India located in the Sirohi district. It is located 58 km away from one of the district of Gujarat i.e. Palanpur. The peak of this range forms a plateau of 22 km which is long enough having 9 km width. The highest peak of the mountain is known to be Guru Shikhar, which is 1722 ms above the sea level, which is referred to be known as oasis in desert area. Earlier mount Abu was known as Arbudaanchal.
Mount Abu is a famous tourist destination, which serves as a getaway from the heat of Rajasthan, Gujarat and other nearby northern Indian states. It is actually the only hill station in the midst of desert. Apart from picturesque views, the hill station has some of the most renowned temples, and a wildlife sanctuary as well. Mount Abu houses some of the famous Jain temples, such as the Dilwara temples.

Udaipur houses the nearest airport, the Maharana Pratap Airport, situated at a distance of 185 km from Mount Abu. The airport has direct flights from some of the major cities of India such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Jaipur.

Abu Road is the nearest railway station from the hill station, at around 28 km from the city. It is connected via direct trains from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Jodhpur.
By Road
Mount Abu is reachable from some of the country's major cities via road, like Delhi, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jaipur and Bundi. Regular buses ply on these routes, which are run by the government and other private operators as well.
